Best Destinations in Bali for the Perfect Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

Pre-wedding Photoshoot

Are you looking for a beautiful location for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali? Then you won’t be disappointed as every corner of the island offers epic sceneries and exotic atmosphere, whether it’s the majestic cliffs, iconic beaches and spectacular ocean views. However, you’ve probably seen multiple couples taking their photoshoot in the exact locations on the island.

Everyone knows how beautiful Bali is, but few people know the hidden gems containing the island’s beautiful untouched locations. These places may require some hiking, but as many photographers say, there’s no reward for some fantastic photos if there is no pain. But the most important thing is to have fun, and enjoy the journey, as your happiness shows in the pictures! Here are some stunning Bali locations that will reward you with some romantic photos and fun memories for your new journey in life.

Balangan Beach for a Dramatic Cliff View

You may have seen photoshoots in Bali’s refreshing green rice fields, white sand beaches and rich tropical jungle, but you’ve probably haven’t seen much in some epic clifftops!

Balangan beach offers breathtaking ocean views that add a lot of character to your romantic photos. This spot even served as an intimate wedding venue for a few couples as the location is ideally suited for accommodating your closest friends or loved ones.

Imagine posing atop a clifftop with your photographer, capturing the best angles to make you look like you’re hovering on top of the ocean. Surfers also come to this place to catch some big waves, so you can expect some giants crashing as your backdrop.

Mount Batur View from the Pinggan Village

If you’ve been dreaming of one of Bali’s iconic mountains as the backdrop for your picture, then the Pinggan Village is where you want to be with the best viewpoint of the majestic Mount Batur.

Only a handful of couples have had their pre-wedding photoshoot in this hidden spot. Most people who make the effort to come here are travel photographers waiting for the fantastic sunrise scene.

To make it in time for sunrise depends on the time of the year, but it’s best to be at the location before 6 am. This means that for a bride-to-be, it’s best to start your makeup at 2 am and set off from the nearest affordable hotel by 4 am.

Be warned that it’s best to avoid the route shown on Google maps, as that is usually the shortest route which may end up at a steep trail that’s almost unclimbable by a car. Unless you’re an adventurer looking for a challenge, then this might not be a fun hike for you. We recommend asking your hotel staff for the best route to Pinggan Village instead of the shorter one suggested by Google maps.

Once you get to the location in time, you’ll be rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime view of Mount Batur and the clouds beneath you with the sunrise at your horizons. It is definitely worth the climb!

Rumah Pohon at Nusa Penida for Your Bali Wedding Photoshoot

Everyone knows that Bali offers a plethora of locations for a wedding photoshoot. However, you should also consider the islands nearby that only take one boat ride to reach them. One of these islands, called Nusa Penida, offers a rugged and dramatic background perfect for couples looking for a jaw-dropping natural backdrop!

One must-see spot is the Rumah Pohon, a treehouse with a priceless view of the ocean and limestone rocks nearby. It’s near Atuh Beach and part of the Thousand Island viewpoint. You can even book the place all to yourself and spend the night in it if you want to!

Treetop Swing Over Danau Buyan Lake at Wanagiri, Bedugul

This place is relatively well-known among the local influencers who come here to shoot the perfect Instagram photo while swinging right on top of Lake Buyan. However, this trending spot is lesser-known amongst wedding photographers.

It’s a magical sight to sit on the giant swing with your partner with the hills and Buyan Lake as your backdrop. Other platforms besides the swing, such as a wooden platform atop a tree and a wooden boat where you can make your own Jack and Rose pose with the surreal Lake still as your backdrop. Note that the Bedugul is located at the island’s higher altitude, which means that it is pretty chilly compared to other regions of Bali, which are usually hot and humid.

Tukad Cepung Waterfall for Adventurous Souls

It takes a challenge-seeking couple who are not afraid of mother nature’s muddy path to find a beautiful sanctuary at the end! Pre-wedding pictures at waterfalls have recently become extremely popular, as waterfalls like Tukad Cepung feels like something out of a fairy-tale. Imagine adding you and your partner in the scene for a hint of romanticism with your dream dress flowing smoothly in its stream along with the waterfall’s droplets falling onto your skin while you pose or kiss slowly. If you’re looking for something different, a bikini could work too!

Couple shots in waterfalls like Tukad Cepung genuinely offer a unique and intense experience with some magical photo results. Even though the trek down is not much of a challenge, it is best if you prepare for some muddy paths as you’ll pass through multiple streams. Don’t worry that you won’t be looking clean and princess-like, as these will bring some natural looks to your wedding pictures! Having some messy hair and bare feet is also picture-worthy and will print out some unique photos you’ll never forget.

We hope this article has inspired you to pick some unique spots on this beautiful island for the perfect pre-wedding photoshoot. There really is every scene you can think of here in Bali, from the beautiful beaches, majestic temples, emerald rice fields, magnificent cliffs with crashing waves underneath and iconic sunsets and sunrise views.
