5 Songs to Sparkle Your Wedding Ceremony in Bali

Songs or Music for your Bali wedding

Music is love, love is music, music is life, and I love my life. Thank you and good night.” -A. J. McLean

Planning a destination wedding in Bali is no easy task, as there are plenty of important decisions to make. This includes picking décor or theme to go for, what to serve at the reception, who to invite, and where they should sit so there aren’t any awkward guests standing around the entrance.

With so many things to consider, a couple can easily miss out on choosing their wedding song. For a few brides and grooms in Bali, the music is an obvious choice to represent anything for them. It may be the first song they danced to or just something that reminds them of a special event as a couple. However, not every couple has one of those songs, and we also don’t want to hear the same wedding songs played a million times before in every other wedding ceremony.

We will offer you some pointers for choosing the music you’re looking for fresh new ideas to light up your destination wedding in Bali.

Things to consider when choosing a wedding song

Your wedding song shouldn’t just be something that sets the dance floor. It is also part of the celebration of the commitment you and your partner are making together.

There are a few points that you need to remember when deciding on a song other than the song’s theme. For instance, the track you choose will likely remind you of your Bali wedding day memories for the rest of your life, so make sure to pick a song that you won’t regret or make you cringe a few years after your marriage. Go for a tune that will put a big smile in both of your faces and help accompany your every step. The song should make you want to grab your partner and feel like going on a honeymoon or dance to the song all over again.

Also, remember that your guests will also be hearing your chosen song. So, you don’t want to choose a song that’s going to give them a headache or even alienate them. As much as the song represents you as a couple, it should also help set the mood for your guests to engage and also get into the mood of your event, and not to give them memories you don’t want them to have. You don’t want them to have the impression that the song you’ve chosen was the downer of your lovely wedding ceremony.

Music to avoid in your wedding Bali

Before we mention the top 5 underrated romantic wedding songs, let’s look at the songs that you shouldn’t play at your event.

For example, The Police’s Every Breath You Take may have lyrics focusing on commitment and suits the casual listener. However, it’s not exactly the kind of commitment you want, as the song is more about a stalker. For some couple, Don’t Close Your Eyes from Kix seem like an appealing song, but its really about suicide. The hottest artists in Billboard, like Billie Eilish, may be in everyone’s playlist right now, with her music I Love You may seem like a suitable title, but the lyrics actually revolve around a break-up, which is not a theme that you want for your wedding in Bali!

Besides songs with inappropriate themes or lyrics, you also need to pay attention to songs with extended playing time. The average pop song usually plays between three to four minutes long. Any song that extends longer can cause your guests to feel tired and bored, which you should avoid, especially if the music is supposed to open the dancefloor.

5 Unusual but romantic wedding songs

Elton John – Your Song

A song by the famous English singer-songwriter offers a burst of beloved melody and loving vibes – precisely the things you want to hear at your wedding in Bali. There’s a theatrical theme going on in the track and the lyrics are beautifully written with impactful meaning. It’s always fun when you, your partner and your guests sing along to the lines, and this track from Elton has an excellent chance to do that.

Lana Del Rey – Video Games

This is a slow, lush, and passionate song from one of Lana’s earliest works. The lyrics “It’s you, it’s you, it’s all for you make it the ideal choice for a romantic dancing session at your wedding. Just imagine your partner close and looking at each other’s eyes while the lyrics sing, “Heaven is a place on earth with you.” You and your guests will instantly feel the goosebumps for all the right reasons.

Queen – You’re My Best Friend

This might be an unusual choice as far as wedding songs go. But its cheerful and upbeat tempo may evoke the party spirit while still maintaining the romantic Bali wedding atmosphere along with the lyrics, “You’re my sunshine and I want you to know… I really love you.

Alicia Keys – That’s When I Knew

If you’re looking for an all-in-one song of romantic themes and lyrics, then this is the one. It has the perfect tempo for a slow dance with unobtrusive instrumentation. The song’s theme seems to perfectly suit a wedding as it’s all about Alicia’s moment when she fell in love and it’s beautiful.

Nina Simone – My Baby Just Cares for Me

Even though this song does get played at a few weddings, it is not considered a wedding song which we think is a missed opportunity! The 1957 version of the song expresses the lyrics of gorgeous sentiments. It’s an intimate and thoroughly danceable tune that features the iconic singer’s hot and silky voice. It’s an essential song to any wedding event.

If you still haven’t found the wedding song you’re looking for, then there’s always Spotify or YouTube Music for some great ideas.
