6 Things You Should Prepare the Night Before Wedding

things to prepare night before wedding

The night before wedding can be the most nerve-wracking yet exciting day of your life. Above all the excitement and unavoidable nerves that come with getting married, there’s a lot to prepare. You’ll want to immerse in the joy of becoming a married woman the following day!

You should feel elated instead of stressed, which is what this article is all about. We want brides to enjoy every second of their special day, so to have a good start, you’ll need some final preparations the day before. To enjoy your pre-wedding day, get your beauty sleep and you’ll feel refreshed the next morning. Besides that, here is our ultimate checklist of 6 things to do the night before your wedding day.

1. Check on Your Wedding Day Checklist

Being organized is the key to planning a successful wedding. Before the important day, you’ll need to look over your wedding checklists to easily keep track of everything you need to bring to the venue. Then, you’ll need to check them off as you pack the car. Check the list twice or have a second set of eyes help you with it. Below are some of the things you’ll want to pack and ready the night before your wedding day:

  • Preparing final payments for vendors: Offer the checks to someone to deliver to every vendor. A family member or friend is always a good choice.
  • Wedding rings: Let your maid of honor for the best man keep the rings for the next day. If you aren’t comfortable passing them off, put them in a safe and secure place. Just remember to put it somewhere you won’t forget!
  • Your wedding attire: Pack everything you’ll be wearing, including your wedding dress, veil/headpiece, shoes and a spare pair of shoes, undergarments, etc.
  • Day-of Itinerary: make sure that your vendors and the wedding party have a copy – print them out if you have a digital itinerary.

2. Final Check-in with Your Vendors

Erase any worries about having a no-show on your special day by calling or texting your team the day before your wedding. Confirm arrival dates and times and other essential information and ask them any last-minute questions if you have any. Here are a few questions you to ask your vendors:

  • What time will the photographers arrive and do their set up? Do they have the necessary information about the venue, including contact information in case they have questions about parking, entering the property, etc?
  • What time will the florists arrive with the bouquets?
  • What time should the bridal party be ready for the hair and makeup?

After checking with every vendor, prepare any last payment or tips. Whether you’ll pay them through PayPal or a physical check, they’re best to be pre-written and placed in envelopes. Deliver these as soon as they arrive on-site, so plan ahead of time. You can also hand them to your Bali wedding planner or Maid of Honor.

3. Spend Time with Your Friends and Family

Relax as much as you can the day before your wedding. After the rehearsal, an old tradition is to have a slumber party with your family, your BFFs, or your entire bridal crew. However, while having all the fun with the most important people in your lives, remember to get some quality shut-eye!

But what can you do with your bridesmaids the night before the wedding? Going low-key is best with only a few gals to spend the night with you instead of the entire wedding party. To set the scene for an unforgettable night before your wedding day, you can also plan a matching pajama set to match your bridesmaids! These will also make a very thoughtful time to offer wedding presents before the big day arrives.

4. Get Hydrated – Drink a Lot of Water

As our bodies are made of 70% water, this suggestion shouldn’t be surprising. Below are some of the benefits of drinking water the night before your wedding:

  • Boosting your energy
  • Lowers anxiety
  • Relieving fatigue
  • Flush out toxins
  • Improving your skin complexion (which will please your wedding makeup artist)
  • And last but not least: it puts you in a good mood!

So, even if you’re having all the champagne the night before the wedding, make sure to also drink as much water as you can before the big day! You can also offer personalized tumblers or water bottles for your bridesmaids, which would make great wedding presents the night before your wedding!

5. Enjoy a Good and Healthy Meal

What makes a good dinner before your wedding day? We’re sure you’ve heard the expression, “you are what you eat,” and it couldn’t be more accurate on the night before your wedding. The food you eat the evening before D-day can help you relax and energize you.

It may be tempting to order fast food to avoid any hassle of cooking, but you’ll feel the benefits of having fresh veggies and nutrient-packed foods. Satisfying snacks are also a plus if any friendly go-to goodies are available that may help ease your stress. Keep in mind to eat something that won’t give you any stomach discomfort, so stay away from anything too rich or greasy. You’ll feel brand new the next morning you wake up on your wedding day!

6. Relax and Take a Break before Your Wedding Day

As previously mentioned, relax as much as you can the night before wedding day. You’ve been waiting the rest of your life for this so you should be expecting some butterflies the day before. To get rid of those “what if?” thoughts, trust in what you have planned so far. Enjoy yourself and every moment!

Watch an episode of the show you like, play some video games, read a book, do yoga or do something else that helps you calm your mind. Also, don’t forget to get some beauty sleep! When morning arrives, you’ll feel energized and ready for the most important day of your life, so have a fantastic wedding day
